This means it stays put. It works well on detangling my short to medium curly hair in the shower and if some hair gets caught, it easily rinses out. In addition, this can be used as a regular brush too.The handles on these brushes are not non-slip like another detangler I have. I prefer a non-slip handle. I was surprised because they did not look like the product description. However, there is a small bar that goes across each of the brushes. You can choose how wide the brush is. I liked that I can adjust the spacing of the bristles. I chose to have one of the brushes to be wider than the other. I notice a difference in how easily the brush goes through my hair. I was not expecting a big difference since they are plastic but I am not experiencing as much breakage or tangling. It is also a lot easier to remove tangles. I have long hair that goes to the middle of my back. I wear it both curly and straight. This is an effective brush for other hair textures as well.
