One of the very finest exposes of Sir Edmund Hillary's legendary 1953 Everest Expedition. I have read many books about this expedition and watched numerous documentaries. But this one was special. It really dug deep into the psychology of Hillary and his all important sherpa, Tenzing Norgay. The book explores how their personal backgrounds and ability to think for each other made them uniquely poised to take on and conquer one of the greatest risks of all time (even to this day) and to ultimately accomplish a truly immortal feat for the ages. It was also a really cool format in terms of blending in live action sequences with documentary footage and even the voices of both men. For those that don't know of this 1953 accomplishment, you should see this movie. I never tire of watching it.
